Gamilah Unbridled is our non-profit that helps provide liberty horsemanship education to underprivileged youth and rescue horses.

Each year Gamilah Unbridled takes on a different project to help others and promote the power of liberty.

My love and passion for people and coaching expanded into my love, and deep respect, for natural horsemanship.

My respect for natural horsemanship evoked my curiosity into building a bond through Liberty. I continue to push my own boundaries, following a deep passion of mine, to discover how close of a connection one can establish between horse-and-rider, and most importantly, rider-to-self. There has been no better teacher of this than the journey I have embarked on with my 8 year old, black, Egyptian Arabian mare, Gamilah MJA (who I call Gami). She has been pushing me beyond my own established comfort zones since the day we began our partnership. I met Gami in the beginning of my horsemanship journey in 2015, and with a combination of my lack of knowledge in horses in general, and her being a naturally difficult horse with her innate distrust (and disinterest) towards people, and surroundings, it quickly proved to be a recipe for disaster. Nothing seemed to quite get through to her. She still didn't trust me. In fact I'm not sure she liked me. She was the reason I dug deeper, looking for other ways I could establish a true connection with her.

I began to explore what would happen if we took the bridle off.

I began to pay attention; I began to listen. There are infinite ways to develop a bond, trust, and a strong, safe, relationship with our horse partners. For Gami, and myself, Liberty was that key for us, that not only opened the door for the friendship that we share, but it was a tool that I used to dig deep within myself, to become intentional with what I believe in when it comes to my personal values, who I am to myself, and therefore, who I strive to be for others. I unquestionably believe that horses help us to reach a deeper connection with ourselves, and with our connection to others, because it is their gift to this world. It was through our journey together exploring how far we could go with Liberty, spending time exploring our connection without saddles, bridles, halters or lead ropes, we began to redefine what was possible for us, and the future of horsemanship.

and from here an idea was born.

THe Rescue Horse Project: The Extra Mile

After the conclusion of our rescue project in 2022, there will several horses that we felt needed to spend more time with us before being adopted out into their forever homes. This inspired us to create a new goal, showing that the toughest rescue horses in the world, could become some of the most advanced liberty horses in the world. In just 1 year.

This one’s for the underdogs.

We will showcase all the horses have learned in a final event on April 29th. This event will include horses working in teams at liberty, tricks, advanced bridleless riding and more. After that, each horse will be available for adoption. Follow us on Gamilah Unbridled on Facebook to see regular updates.

Join us, April 29th, for the Extra Mile event.

THe Rescue Horse Project

We selected 5 of the toughest rescue horses across the country from 501c3 nonprofit organizations, the ones who were the most misunderstood, or who had habits formed that were dangerous to others and themselves. We be took them in from January-May, and trained them using Liberty techniques only. All while, documenting their journey into their own healing and education using no ropes, or halters, to not only educate these horses, but to show how much we believe in Liberty being the way of the future.

Everyone deserves a second chance.

We showcased all the horses had learned in a final event May 15th, working them at liberty and riding them bridleless. After that, each horse that was ready was adopted out. The horses that were not ready to be adopted out remained with us for further training.

The journey of a lifetime

Gamilah and I crossed the United States, from California to Kentucky, continuing to explore and evolve what defined our partnership. Together, we will built on what we had previously learned and developed from our time practicing Liberty, as we completed this 2,500 mile journey across the country riding bridleless.

We Documented our entire journey along the way for all to join us.

During the trip, we stopped at 17 different non-profits, raised $50,000 for non-profits, and helped to rehome over 15 horses. We are now working on a book all about the trip as well as a documentary including all of the footage we captured during our 6 month adventure. Stay tuned...

dedicated to those who dare to dream.
